Interior Painting in Maxton, NC
Clean lines, even coverage and a crew that protects your floors and furniture, with the prep work that makes paint last.
Most of a Good Paint Job Happens Before the Paint
Anyone can roll color onto a wall. What separates a paint job that looks sharp for years from one that looks tired in months is the preparation: filling holes and cracks, sanding glossy surfaces so new paint grips, spot-priming stains so they do not bleed through, and taping or cutting clean edges at ceilings and trim.
Humidity makes prep even more important here. Kitchens and bathrooms in our climate pick up moisture and cooking residue, and paint applied over a dirty or damp surface peels. We wash greasy or mildewed areas, let walls dry, and use a mildew-resistant paint in rooms that need it.
Because Jorge also does drywall and trim, the work can start with the repairs themselves, such as patched walls, new casing or fresh baseboards, and end with the paint, so there is no handoff between a repair crew and a painting crew. On bigger jobs Jorge brings in a small crew of painters he trusts.
Signs It Is Time to Repaint Inside
- Scuffed, stained or faded walls that no longer wash clean
- Peeling or bubbling paint, especially in the bathroom and kitchen
- Patched walls, new trim or a remodel that still needs a finished coat
- Dark colors you want to cover, or an old finish you want to lighten up
- Ceiling stains from an old leak that has been repaired and now needs to be sealed and repainted
- A house being listed, rented or moved into where fresh paint makes the biggest visible difference
How We Paint a Room
- Walk through and choose colorsWe look at each room, talk through color and sheen, and write down which walls, ceilings and trim are in the scope.
- Protect the roomFurniture is moved or covered, floors are protected with drop cloths, and outlets, fixtures and edges are taped or removed.
- Repair and prepHoles and cracks are filled, patches sanded, stains primed, glossy areas scuffed and dirty surfaces washed.
- Prime and paintPrimer goes on patched, stained or color-changing areas, followed by two coats of finish paint, cutting in the edges by hand.
- Touch up and clean upWe walk the room in good light, touch up what shows, remove the tape and leave the room clean.
What Affects the Price of Interior Painting
Why Martinez Construction for Interior Painting
We treat painting as the last step of a job we may have started with drywall or carpentry. That helps in two ways: the surface is smooth because the person painting knows what a good finish should look like, and you do not have two contractors blaming each other over a flaw.
Jorge can put a small crew of painters on a larger job so it moves quickly without cutting corners on prep. We protect your home, keep the work area tidy, and walk it with you before we call it finished.

Interior Painting FAQs
How many coats of paint will my walls need?
Most walls get a coat of primer where needed, followed by two coats of finish paint. Going from a dark color to a light one, or covering stains and patches, often takes extra coverage. We tell you what we expect when we quote the job.
What paint sheen should I choose?
Flat or matte hides wall flaws and is common in bedrooms and living rooms. Eggshell and satin are easier to wipe clean and work well in hallways and kitchens. Semi-gloss is durable on trim, doors and in bathrooms. We recommend a sheen for each room.
Can you paint over wallpaper or old glossy paint?
Glossy paint is scuffed and primed so new paint adheres. Wallpaper is best removed first because paint over it can bubble and the seams show through. We can include wallpaper removal in the scope.
Do I need to move my furniture?
Moving small items and clearing the walls makes the work go faster. We move and cover the large pieces ourselves, protect the floors, and put everything back when we are done.
What paint is best for humid bathrooms and kitchens?
Use a paint labeled for bathrooms or with mildew-resistant additives, in a satin or semi-gloss finish that wipes clean. Good ventilation matters as much as the paint, so we also check that your exhaust fan is moving steam out.
How long does it take to paint a room?
A typical bedroom takes a day or so including prep, depending on repairs and how many coats are needed. Humidity can slow drying between coats. We give you an estimate for the whole house when we quote.
